Early on Monday morning we heard fire engines and sirens. We are usually fairly immune to that sound, having lived in a busy section of North Beach in San Francisco for many years. But low and behold, the house just 6 houses down from us caught on fire in the early morning. We didn't even know what was going on until Brian left the house to run some errands and saw all the fire activity. You would have thought we would have smelled the smoke.

Here's a good lesson to make sure you have fire extinguishers in your home and to make sure they are operational!!
