Updated Kaitlyn Pictures....

It's been very hot lately, so Kaitlyn has spent some time in the buff lately. Here is her typical expression....

She looks almost "chubby" in this picture, I think it's just the way she's sitting.

Not sure if you can see it, but her TINY scar from her heart surgery (PDA surgery) when she was 4 days old is growing with her and is now quite long on her shoulder blade - at least 3-4 inches.

She loves to sleep curled up on her side - now you can see her swing is covered in burp cloths, blankets and of course she has on a bib...all in antipation of vomit - we are always at the ready. See her crossed arms....she'll "cuddle" anything you put in her arms. . It's so cute.

An attemp at carrots last week. Unfortunately, her feeding with the spoon has gone downhill. She no longer even allows me to get anything in her mouth any more. She clamps down with her lips. So much for some early success with the spoon and solids.

Here's actually a video of her eating carrots:

Another Carrots Picture

Sitting in her fancy new Boppy that friends of Mame and Gille (Brian's parents) sent Kaitlyn this week. And in a very cute little dress

Kaitlyn in her bassinet with her feeding tube attached. As I mentioned, she LOVES sleeping on her side, with her arms crossed, cuddling anything. I've recently given her this super soft lamb-blanket (a gift from step-sister Kris W) and in the morning she is still cuddling it. I wish I had taken a picture of her in her bassinet when she first came home. She was so tiny in it, now she has almost outgrown it.

Our friends Keith and Kim came for a visit this last weekend. We took kaitlyn out for lunch at a restaurant in Tiburon (Sam's for the locals). it was HOT. Keith and Kim are from New Orleans and are actually "family" in a complicated way. The first floor of their house was completely flooded from Hurrican Katrina, but there were able to rebuild and just moved back in. It was SOOOO great to see them!

I just put your home and cell numbers in my phone and will call within the next couple of days so we can make plans. I sent you two emails in reply to your's, but I guess you didn't get them??? Sorry! Gotta go...we've got a plane to catch! Wish us luck...

She looks huge!

That first picture of her looks JUST LIKE your husband.

Brayden's scar from his heart surgery (for his dual aortic arch) is growing right along with him, too. I am actually surprised at just how big it has gotten. Oh, well...small price to pay, right?

I know Kaitlyn has feeding issues that I can't begin to identify with, but maybe a different food--both of mine hated the carrots but loved squash and sweet potatoes. Still, Baylee fought me a lot on the solids (often flat out refusing to open her mouth and eat ANYTHING) until we finally switched to table food. Now she outeats Brayden at every meal. I truly hope you find something that will work with her. It's got to be very frustrating and disheartening to watch your baby vomit so much without being able to definitively know why.

Hope you and Billie and the girls have lots of fun together!

Hey. i know that she doesn't nipple much food. but have you tried different types of bottles? one of my cousins had feeding issues, and we tried the avent bottle, and he seemed to nipple more.

Hi Liz, I had just been thinking about how you were doing when I saw your desperate post on the Yahoo feeding group. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. Anthony used to vomit like that, although it was not as often. Maybe once or twice a day, but not every day. He was on Zantac which helped some. Mostly he had to grow out of it. I wonder how K would do with one of those mesh fruit feeder things, do you know what I'm talking about? Don't forget you are the center of her life, and even though she doesn't smile, she loves you dearly. You're doing a great job with her. I wish I had a magic wand for you.
Hugs,
Jodi from PROM

I cant believe she doesnt bother her button when she doesnt have clothes on. Hallie pulls at hers as soon as her shirt comes off, and has now started trying to pull it out with clothes on.

okay. heres a way to get food into her mouth. put a finger on each cheek, and make her lips form into "fish lips". slightly put the spoon in. you will get some in the mouth. that is what we did with my niece. she now LOVES baby food. and she would clamp her lips together to refuse baby food too! try it. :) :) :)
