Here is the first day with DR Patel of eating fork-mashed purees. THis is Carrots - not easy for Kaitlyn (make sure you watch all the way through for a GOOD size vomit)
Hi, I haven't posted a comment in awhile. But I wanted to say how awesome it is to see your Kaitlyn eating so well. She really is fighting the vomiting isn't she. Bless her heart. But what a change from some of the first video's you posted when she wouldn't put anything in her mouth. :o) You and her both are still in my prayers.
I wish it didn't have to be so hard for you! I can tell you are working so intently at eating those carrots--fork mashed is pretty thick and chunky. Tell your mommy to hang in there--someday all of this therapy and work is going to sink in.

Look at the progress she has made! Even with the vomitting. I know you are working so hard with Kaitlyn, Liz. She reminds me so much of the little boy in Halle's feeding group, really. A year ago (he was 2.5 then) he could not eat anything but thin purees and would vomit anything else. At our last therapy session he was eating a hamburger and fries. I am hoping and praying that these baby steps Kaitlyn is taking will lead her to that Happy Meal!
Nice vomit, eh? My three year old still does that sometimes, and ya gotta love it. Or rabidly hate it. Kaitlyn is working so hard at this. She's really one heck of an amazing little girl,
Liz- I always think of you guys in October, Happy Birthday to Kaitlyn and Corrine. She looks so grown up! She is one tough little cookie. Hope you made it through the quake OK. Take care, Michelle
I know you probably don't see it in the day to day battle, but she looks SO MUCH better with this. She's opening her mouth before they shove the spoon in, and clapping when she does eat...it's a real improvement. Tell us more about the feeding program with Dr. Patel. Just reading, it sounds like it ended long ago, but maybe not?
Wow she'd doing amazing - Any progress is GOOD. So glad. And I loved the syringe video. Lincoln is fascinated with these too. Perhaps I should just put his food in there.
