I am curious to see what Dakota sounds like once her trach comes out. She also has a paralized vocal cord and I'm sure will sound similar.
That reminds me so much of our feeding sessions though we're still working with the bottle primarily as Dakota's only 8mos adjusted. Looks like Kaitlyn's at least slightly interested in the water.
Liz- i haven't checked in for awhile, Miss Kaitlyn looks great. I love the video of her playing with you, and the photo of her reading her book. I hope she is running around real soon. Take care, Michelle
Ok, we have the EXACT same voice. Same intonations, rhythym, the way we talk to our kid about yogurt- everything. I've never encountered that before. It sounded like me on the tape!!!
the feeding ritual is giving me flashbacks. aaaaggghhh!!!! i always tried but time proved it had to be on daniel's terms and his timetable. it also proved that the boy is even more stubborn than i can be. daniel also would always drink water, the colder the better. he still loves ic water. as the ent predicted, daniel's voic has gotten stronger as he has grown. at age 5 now, his normal voice is breathy which coupld with a typical little boy high pitch is too cute and folks say that all the time. his work in spech has taught him to project and he can carry his voice through this big ol' house just fine when he can and wants to. :) kaitlyn is a cutie.
It seems as though she may have something to do with texture that is making her not eat too.....because she took the water and the broth you said you gave her in the post above somewhere. both of those have no texture really. no bumps or anything. so maybe you could find a z-vibe spoon somewhere (there's a link on cole and paige's site)

I love the pics and the videos Liz :-) Thanks for sharing them. The giggle is priceless.
Looks amazingly familiar...sigh.
Maybe I should do a video too, so you can see that you really aren't alone!

Oh, yes. My dd does the same thing... like another person said, maybe I'll make a video so you'll know that you aren't alone in the feeding struggle!
Looks exactly like meal times at our house!
I LOVE her little voice!
